- 4. • THINK RIGHT TO OVERCOME IMPATIENCE • a. THINKING RIGHT IS THINKING GUIDED BY AND CONSISTENT WITH THE WORD OF GOD • Matthew 22:29 Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. IMPRESS TO HEART AND MIND
- 5. • b.THINKING RIGHT IS ABOUT DEMOLISHING ALL ARGUMENTS AGAINST GOD TAKING CAPTIVE ALL THOUGHTS TO MAKE THEM OBEDIENT TO CHRIST…( ANY THOUGHT THAT DISOBEYS CHRIST IS A WRONG THOUGHT ) • 2 CORINTHIANS 10:5. DEMOLISH ALL ARGUMENTS AGAINST GOD TO TAKE CAPTIVE EVERY THOUGHT TO MAKE IT OBEDIENT TO CHRIST • c. THINKING RIGHT IS THINKING UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT • ROMANS 8:6. MIND CONTROLLED BY THE SPIRIT IS LIFE AND PEACE.
- 7. OBEYING THE COMMAND TO BE PATIENT IS TO OVERCOMING IMPATIENCE •Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
- 8. PATIENCE IS A FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT •Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
- 9. WEAR THE GOOD CLOTHING OF PATIENCE ( special clothing of God’s chosen people ) • Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience
- 10. 1.OVERCOMING IMPATIENCE IS TO WAIT FOR AND TRUST GOD’S TIMING • James 1:4 (NLV) Learn well how to wait so you will be strong and complete and in need of nothing. • (MSG) So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

- 13. 2.OVERCOMING IMPATIENCE IS TO SHOW UNDERSTANDING TO THE MISTAKES AND SHORTCOMING OF OTHERS • Proverbs 14:29 A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly. • Proverbs 19:11 A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense. • NOTE: • PEOPLE ARE IMPERFECT! ( DONT EXPECT TOO MUCH, ALWAYS EXPECT ON GOD )
- 14. 3.OVERCOMING IMPATIENCE IS TO AVOID FOOLISH IRRITATIONS AND QUARRELLING • Provers15:18 A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel. • NOTE: • ACCIDENTS ( CAR, BUMPING, ETC )
- 15. • Numbers 21:4 They traveled from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea, to go around Edom. But the people grew impatient on the way; • Numbers 21:5 they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the desert? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!" • Numbers 21:6 Then the LORD sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died.
- 16. 4.OVERCOMING IMPATIENCE IS TO ENDURE SUFFERING BY GOD’S GRACE • JAMES 1:4 (CEV) But you must learn to endure everything, so that you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything. • (GW) Endure until your testing is over. Then you will be mature and complete, and you won't need anything.
- 17. • James 5:10 Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. • James 5:11 As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.
- 18. • 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NIV) • 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
