Even if an electric vehicle is
charged from worst source
of electricity, it would be
responsible for up to 2 tons
of CO2 emissions per year

for IC Engine
Cars
IC engine car exhaust is responsible for up to 5.2 tons
of CO2 emissions per year. So, 52 tons of CO2
emissions in the entire life span is imminent.
But the petrol/diesel must be extracted from crude
oil and refined.
• - Average daily oil production is 95 million barrels which
accounts for 770 million tons of CO2 emissions
• - Single refinery is responsible for 280 billion tons
of CO2 emissions in a year
Verdict!
Even if we ignore the emissions due to
processing of petrol/diesel, electric vehicles
are far better than IC engine cars.
