The study focuses on the design, formulation, and in vitro evaluation of sustained release tablets for telmisartan, an antihypertensive drug, employing a 32 factorial design. Nine formulations were developed using varying concentrations of HPMCK100M and xanthan gum as release-retarding agents, and the optimal formulation (F5) exhibited release kinetics resembling marketed products. The research demonstrates the effectiveness of statistical design methods in optimizing sustained release formulations to improve drug delivery for chronic therapies.
