- 2. UNITY The home page of Twitter is a bird house, the default image is an egg, composing a new update is called a tweet, and the follow icon is a bird. The consistency of the bird theme makes this a great example of unity.
- 3. VARIETY The change of colors on the main page direct attention to the important information.
- 4. BALANCE The symmetry in the square window positions create a good example of the balance for the main page.
- 5. RHYTHM The elements in the background give the impression of being in motion. This leads the audience’s eyes to the middle of the page.
- 6. SCALE The maps in their page are different sizes in relation to the amount of land they cover.
- 7. EMPHASIS The orange design on this page highlights the important links.
- 8. SIMPLICITY Only the most useful information is shown on this page.
- 9. COMBINATION • Variety in font size • Balance between header and body text • Scale of header provide emphasis • Picture, text pattern provides rhythm • Layout uses few colors, keeps it simple
