Main Functions of Components in
VCR Cycle
1.Compressor
Create flow of refrigerant
Create pressure difference
2.Condensor
Extract heat from refrigerant and transfer to surrounding
Convert vapour refrigerant to liquid refrigerant
3.Expansion Valve/Device
Reduce the pressure of refrigerant
4.Evaporator
Absorb the heat from room or space which we want to make cool
Convert liquid refrigerant to vapour refrigerant
Main Functions of Components in
simple VAR Cycle
1.Condensor 2. Expansion Valve and 3. Evaporator (These 3’s function is same as in
VCR cycle)
4.Absorber
Suck low pressure refrigerant from evaporator
5.Generator
To provide high pressure refrigerant to condensor
6.Pump
Pass refrigerant Absorber to Generator
Simple Vapour Absorption Cycle
1. More Efficient
2. COP is Greater than VAR cycle
3. Compact
4. Electricity are used
5. Compressor is used
1. Less Efficient
2. COP is less than VAR cycle
3. Complex as compare to VCR cycle
4. Steam/Hot water etc. are used
5. Compressor is replaced by Absorber
and Generator
