Awareness During Disaster
 The most important thing to remember
during a Disaster is to follow the
instructions of local authorities and
emergency service and remain claim.
 Move to safe place.
 Listen to your portable radio for update.
 Follow the instructions of local authorities.
 Close all the doors and windows of home.
 Don’t stay near the glass window or doors.

 Collect all things which is daily needs.
 Don’t touch the open wires.

Accident Keep your vehicle in good condition.

vehicles.

 Seat under the table or stand in corner.

 If you in car the stop there and go to safe
place or stand beside the road.

 Don’t run any way in room or any place.

 Listen the instruction of local authorities.

 Move to safe place which is in height for the
water.

 Drink the boilling water and keep all daily
need things.

 Doesn’t try to enter in water.
Awareness During Lighting
 Turn off the main switch.
 Don’t stay under tree.
Awareness During Lighting
 Stay in safe home.
 Electric item don’t keep near water atleast turn of
that.
Search and Rescue
 To locate and access injured or trapped
victim.
 Stabilized the emergency situation.
 Transport the patients to safety.
 Newer and advanced technologies and
equipment have recently made an impact in
search and rescue operation, to making them
easier and quicker.
Early warning system
 Early warning system are combinations of
tools and processes embedded within
institutional structures.
 It’s coordinate by the international and
national agencies.
 These system are composed of four
elements:-
 Knowledge of the risk
 A technical monitoring and warning service
 Dissemination of meaningful warning to at risk people
 Public awareness and preparedness to act.
What can we expect of Early
warning system?
 Early warning can save lives
 Prevent some damage but not all
 Help in many types of hazard
 Earthquake
 Flood
 Cyclone
 Lightning
• In Limited when it comes to geological
hazards
IDNDR
• Basic Objective:-
 Decrease the loss of life
 Property destruction and social & economic
disruption caused by natural disaster
• The UN general assembly designated
the1990s as the International Decade for
Natural Disaster Reduction (IDNDR).
• To support the activities of the decade, a
Secretariat was established at the UN office
in Geneva.
Hyogo Framework
• In January 2005, 168 govt. adopted a 10-year
plan to make the world safer from natural
hazards at the World Conference on Disaster
Reduction, held in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan.
• It’s a Global Blueprint for disaster risk
reduction.
Five Priority action identified by the HFA
are:-
• DRR is national and local priority.
• Identify, assess and monitor disaster risk and
enhance early warning.
• Use knowledge, innovation and education to
build
a culture of safety.
• Reduce underlying risk factors.
• Strengthen disaster preparedness for effective
response at all levels.
