This document provides a literature review on determinants of inward foreign direct investment by high growth firms in the UK with regard to labour productivity. It begins by defining foreign direct investment and discussing its benefits to host countries such as job creation and increased labour productivity. It then defines high growth firms and discusses their relationship to productivity, both theoretically and empirically. The remainder of the document outlines the proposed methodology for the research, including the research philosophy, approach, design, data sources, analysis, and limitations. Overall, the literature review examines existing research on the impact of inward foreign direct investment, particularly from high growth firms, on labour productivity in the UK economy.
