The “Do Something” Project<br />Your job this trimester is to work on something that you care about. Come up with a driving question that relates to a problem that you see in school, in your community, city, state, or even the country. Then you must create a strategy to do something about it. Your interest project this trimester is going to show what you found out and how you made an effort to fix the problem. <br />WHAT WILL YOU HAVE TO DO?<br />Proposal: Due April 7
Write a proposal for your project design. Once you submit your proposal it is FINAL!
Milestone 1: Due April 14
RESOURCES:
3 books: Read about the problem that you have observed in books, newspapers, and/or magazine articles
3 websites
Interview: you are required to contact someone who can assist you with your problem. You need to either write a letter(s) to someone who can help you or interview an expert. You must submit contact information for this person using the form given by Mrs. Tiggs.

  • 1. The “Do Something” Project<br />Your job this trimester is to work on something that you care about. Come up with a driving question that relates to a problem that you see in school, in your community, city, state, or even the country. Then you must create a strategy to do something about it. Your interest project this trimester is going to show what you found out and how you made an effort to fix the problem. <br />WHAT WILL YOU HAVE TO DO?<br />Proposal: Due April 7
  • 2. Write a proposal for your project design. Once you submit your proposal it is FINAL!
  • 5. 3 books: Read about the problem that you have observed in books, newspapers, and/or magazine articles
  • 7. Interview: you are required to contact someone who can assist you with your problem. You need to either write a letter(s) to someone who can help you or interview an expert. You must submit contact information for this person using the form given by Mrs. Tiggs.
  • 9. Notes: to include background knowledge or history about the problem, notes from your interview, and information about what has been done previously in trying to solve the problem.
  • 10. Word and Stats sheet: find words that relate to your problem that you need to understand and include statistics about the problem
  • 12. Create Glogsters, videos, Power Point presentation, or any posters/pamphlets you used to promote your project to others about your project.
  • 13. Make sure to include PICTURES of yourself that were taken showing you working on the problem
  • 14. Reflection: Due at your scheduled Exhibition time
  • 15. Show the results of your project and write a reflection on the results of your “do something” project.
