The photo has been taken carefully so that the artist is to the left so there is room for a story. This is done in most magazines. The “New to Entity” graphic is one of our regulars to our magazine. This has the typical conventions of a music magazine as most magazines use a catchphrase for new reviews. The pull quote is made to stand out as it is one of the most important quotes in the review as it shows the artists personality. The page number keeps the continuity and conventions of a magazine. The story on the page relates to the audience as the artist “grew up in the city” and was a normal person until he career in music started. This is the theory of Uses & Gratifications as the audience will want to be him, which will offer them an escape from their normal “boring” lives which will also give them excitement. The heading represents the artist as being devoted to his work as he suggests he is always “behind his guitar”.
