• #5: We feel it is very important to make the distinction between a Plan and the Planning cycle. An estimate becomes a budget/schedule and if you fail to update the schedule with actual results and “re-estimate” the work Then the plan quickly becomes obsolete.

• #15: So as we talk about DTC ’s ability to integrate with primavera its important to understand there are many different flavors of primavera. Primavera P6 Enterprise - It provides a single solution for managing projects of any size, adapts to various levels of complexities within a project, and intelligently scales to meet the needs of various roles, functions, or skill levels in your organization and on your project team. Primavera P6 Professional - is designed to handle large-scale, highly sophisticated and multifaceted projects. It can be used to organize projects up to 100,000 activities, and it provides unlimited resources and an unlimited number of target plans. Primavera Contract Management (PCM) - Is a document management, job cost, and field controls solution that keeps construction projects on schedule and on budget through complete project control.  It is possible for DTC to integrate with all of these products but today we will be focusing on our integration with P6 Project Management. Within Project Management there is stand-alone and server based.
• #16: Quick snap shot of the types of integrations available through DTC and Primavera. Within each section there are also numerous technologies that can be employed to develop P6 and DTC integrations. With DTC and P6 we can ensure you that you will make a minimal investment and maximize your benefit.
• #18: This a look at Primavera ’s technical architecture in the full blown central server, web services implementation. Under this type of configuration DTC would typical integrate with Primavera through an API that communicates with Primavera through web services.
• #20: You may import your schedule from an estimating system or you may manual set up the WBS in P6. The WBS can then be exported to DTC. Flat File API Flat File is more of a one time approach as its difficult to manage changes API its easy manage changes
• #21: The import can be designed for each company or even for each Company, division, department, etc – as many difference types as you need. Types of projects, etc.
• #22: The process can be scheduled Or it can be run on demand by an administrator if need be. You may want real time updates but it will come at a cost – resources. It is extremely difficult to guarantee the scheduled import process if P6 is operating as a stand-alone. The person is off-line, or they haven ’ t updated the server, etc.
• #23: The WBS can be imported and then managed within DTC.
• #24: Once the hours are captured in DTC they are available to be exported. We can design and incremental export or an inception to date export. As the schedule changes WBS the changes will be reflected in DTC if reallocation are required they will be noted and addressed in DTC and the hours will be updated and resubmitted to Primavera.
• #25: Like the import process you can have as many different export processes as you need. It can be scheduled or run on demand
• #26: This is a look at the Flat File import process as its difficult to show an automated process.
• #27: Hours are imported into Primavera and available to review and compare to the schedule Provided the much needed feedback to accurately re-estimate the job or prepare accurate forecast to complete. The data can be imported into daily buckets or weekly/monthly buckets so S curves and resource loading can be analyzed in detail.
• #28: It has been our experience that when actual results are incorporated into the re-estimate or forecast to complete The level of accuracy and confidence increase significantly and as a result the information becomes trustworthy and Timely decisions can be made with confidence and the success factors go up significantly. Stop questioning the accuracy and start making the right decisions.
