Duplicate Finder
- 1. Duplicate Finder – November 2014 (VBA/Excel) Items could be imported or manually rang out of the point of sale system that the company used. Sometimes, either for malicious or accidental reasons, duplicate entries would be rang out in the system by the sales staff. All sales items were checked individually, so if an error was found it was corrected. This process did not provide any visibility for duplicate entries. A separate program was developed to take an exported report from the point of sale system, and identify multiple items sold within a single commission category. Because an item could be a duplicate even if it was a different item (2 items within the same commission category), this audit would not be possible without a program. This program took 10 minutes to run by itself. This was the splash/main screen of this program. This program was created for my personal use in my job, and was never provided a proper GUI. It worked by having a sales report exported from the point of sale system in the background, then click “Find Duplicates”
