Drupal e-Commerce version 4 includes structural changes to better support customers. The old structure separated Drupal users and anonymous users, with transactions in between. The new structure combines Drupal users and anonymous users into a single "customer" entity, and moves transactions to be associated directly with the customer. These changes are aimed at driving improved e-commerce functionality.
