E extension program
The Department of Agriculture designated the Agricultural Training Institute as the lead agency to provide e-Extension services through collaboration with other DA agencies and units. The goal is to integrate information and communication technologies into the extension delivery system for agriculture and fisheries. The electronic delivery of extension services forms a network of institutions to provide a more efficient alternative to traditional extension. The key components of e-Extension are e-Learning, e-Farming (farmers clubs and text support), and e-Trading. E-Learning courses are delivered both online and through blended learning with field activities and expert interactions. Current e-Learning courses cover crops, livestock, marine and fisheries, and social technology topics.

Department Order No. 03 series of 2007 designates the Agricultural Training Institute as lead agency for the provision of e-Extension services in collaboration with the various agencies, bureaus and organizational units of the DA. This is to integrate and harmonize ICT-based extension delivery system for agriculture and fisheries.

- 5. The e-Learning for Agriculture and Fisheries is a major component of the Department of Agriculture's e-Extension Program. The e-Learning courses are delivered online and with a blended approach integrating field activities and face-to- face interaction between learners and experts.
