reach of many in the world 
 To give an opportunity to educators to spread the 
knowledge to people around the globe 
 To create the prospect for learners to learn various 
subjects from the best universities and educators in the 
world 
 To transform the education system and make it global 
 To develop an innovative system of imparting education 
and skills

 Advantages for the User of EdX 
 Users can be categorized into Educators and Learners 
 Educators get a easy to use platform to reach out to a 
larger audience 
 Learners get a user friendly technology to learn various 
skills which they may not otherwise gain access to due to 
geographical or financial or other reasons

 EdX as a Learning Technology 
 It directs the learner to a specific goal or objective in 
every course 
 It is a user-friendly system – easy to maneuver through 
the different parts of a course 
 The use of videos, interactive practice exercises, tasks 
and assignments helps to engage the learner 
 Comfortably paced learning and showing the progress of 
the learner is motivating 
 Learning with the help of multiple methodologies is useful 
and effective

 To reduce cost of a recurring training that could be done

 It is a different medium of learning 
 Learning can be easy by seeing demonstrations in the

 It can show processes and procedures that need to be

Comparative Analysis 
 Training Videos are only one form of medium while 
EdX is a platform that uses multiple methodologies 
that include training videos. 
 Training Videos are generally one way 
communication while EdX has the mechanism of 
getting feedback from the audience and creates an 
interactive mode. 
 Training Videos may have limited ability towards 
imparting an effective training while EdX has the 
capability of imparting better learning as it includes 
interaction with the learners, tasks, assignments and 
a scoring system to grade learners.
