- 3. Eyes • Using the ‘polygonal lasoo tool’ I selected the white part of Daniela’s eyes and the coloured part. I then used the paint brush to colour these parts to emphasise them. I then made them more transparent so they looked realistic.
- 5. Eyebrows • I made Daniela’s eyebrows more defined. I selected the eyebrow with the polygonal lasoo tool, and coloured it in a dark brown with the brush tool. I then made the layer more transparent to make it more realistic. The eyebrows shape is now more defined and the eyebrows are darker.
- 7. Lips • I decided to make Daniela’s lips more pink, pink lipstick is trendy and many pop stars wear it. It will also make her pout stand out more. I used the polygonal lasso tool to select her lips, then the brush tool to colour them in. I reduced the opacity of the layer to make the lips look more realistic. Jessie J and Taylor Swift, both pop singers wear pink lipstick.
- 10. Earrings • I chose to add earings to Daniela to make her look more fashionable and trendy. As Daniela’s image will be small on my cover I chose large hoops so they will be seen. Large hoops are stylish, modern and have connotations of young people (my target audience) • First, I sourced an image of hoop earrings from the internet -
- 12. Earrings • I then used the polygonal lasso tool to select one earring. To remove the background of the image I clickes ‘Select’ ‘Inverse’ and then used the eraser tool to remove the background. I scaled the image, holding shift to ensure it did not become stretched, and moved the image to Daniela’s ear.
- 14. Background • I removed the background of Daniela’s image. Whilst removing the background around her hair I used the feather tool to give it a softer finish, making the overall outcome more realistic.
- 16. Imperfections • I used the ‘spot healing brush tool’ to remove imperfections on Daniela’s face.
- 20. Cheekbones • I then used the burn tool to darken the area beneath Daniela’s cheekbones. I did this to make Daniela’s cheekbones stand out, as cheekbones are associated with beauty.
