- 2. “Technology is more than hardware. Technology consists of the designs and the environments that engage learners.” – Dr. Jonassen Technology in education is one of the issues in education. It refers to those educational inventions we have now in which this satisfy human needs. The term “technology” does not only mean machines but rather it is more beyond than being a machine. This provide ideas, knowledge, and information to individuals in making them to better know of something new in our modern world. Some people ask, is technology is important when it comes to teaching? Yes, absolutely. Through this kind of technology we have now, we can know more things that can help us in facing the world of innovation.
- 3. Importance: o Learners will be future oriented. (Insights:) Future is all about technology. The more time will pass by, the more inventors will discover new inventions in technology. Because of this, more technologies will be used when it comes to teaching and learning. And students will be part in teaching-learning process. They will learn another unique ideas and information that can help them in many aspects. Thinking on the things might happen in the future will make them prepared and ready facing the modern world.
- 4. Importance: o Learning becomes interesting. (Insights:) With the help of technology, learning become more interesting to learners. They will be engage on certain activities and be challenge on using the new devices that cannot only give them learning and understanding but also an entertainment as well. Through this, they will be motivated and active to do such things.
- 5. Importance: o Improves skills & capabilities. (Insights:) On the modern world we have, we are now already part of the 21st century which is also known as “the beginning of the Digital Age”. Technology does not only gives clear and collective understanding but rather it makes a learners to develop his/her skills in different aspects. Such skills are: collaboration, communication, social, problem-solving, critical thinking, global awareness, cultural diversity, self- direction, listening and planning. Having this skills, will help learners to achieve success in the 21st century world.
- 6. Importance: o Increases collaboration. (Insights:) With the help of technology, students can collaborate or join with other groups in learning many different things. They can work with others will respect and also can share and create knowledge effectively. Technology will help make them be interactive enough to do on things they think they cannot do. Learners will know how to cooperate or participate willingly in order to learn more things that can help them in the future.
- 7. Importance: o Provide drill and practice for the student. (Insights:) Tools/devices being used in the classroom is more effective than just only a plain discussion. It serve as an instrument to teaching that gives motivation to students to continue their learning. When it comes to the part of the teacher, he/she must also has a knowledge on how to handle or know what to use in his/her discussion to be make it efficient and effective. Example for this is the computer, using computers in discussion is much better than a plain discussion only. The plain discussion may become tedious especially when you do this in the whole time of your class. Computes may help students to understand the idea more clearer and easier. Through this, confusion on the part of the students will be eliminated and prevented.
