The Edutech Cluster was created in 2013 to promote innovation in educational technology in Spain. It represents over 600 companies in Catalonia working in areas like educational software, online platforms, and IT infrastructure for schools. The Cluster aims to encourage partnerships between edtech companies, facilitate dialogue with public administrators, and disseminate the importance of technology in education. It organizes conferences and supports edtech startups through programs with accelerators. The Cluster also works to define a national framework for educational digital transformation based on tools and resources to improve learning outcomes.

Edutech Cluster is created in 2013 as an association of Educational ICT and edtech companies that create technology-based products or offer services to enhance the learning process at non-university stages Encourage competitiveness and business opportunities for companies in the ICT Education sector Promote demand scenarios of quality technological products and services Encourage partnerships between companies to create new products and services Provide a more cohesive visibility of the sector in front of demand Facilitate dialogue between companies and Public Administration Disseminate the strategic importance of ICT in the teaching-learning process WHO IS EDUTECH CLUSTER

- 13. 13 Definition of the edutech digitalization framework Catalog: Will present the set of new technological tools and content, beyond the digital textbook, and incorporating a wide range of educational resources Technology: Based on an open and interoperable ecosystem Results: How to demonstrate on a scientific basis that learning technologies can improve learning with the appropriate model Regulations: How we will adjust the regulations to this framework. Partnership with GESAwards & SEKLab – 2019 EDTECH STARTUPS SUPPORT • Agreement to organize the first semifinal of the Global Edtech Startup awards 2019 in Spain during the ITworldEdu congress to look for the most innovative startups of our entrepreneurial ecosystem. • +20 disruptive startups preselected • The Global EdTech Startup Awards (GESA) is the largest EdTech Startup competition in the world and the main agent that promotes innovation in education with startups that provide solutions to real problems. • More than 2,500 startups from around the world have presented to the GESAs, to have a voice and be recognized in a key sector such as education. The most promising EdTech Startups of the year, will be connected with the key agents of the local ecosystems of the EdTech landscape, connection with other markets to grow and specialized mentoring.
