Jennifer tutored two boys with emotional disturbances and ADHD at an elementary school, helping them improve reading, math, and writing skills. She also provided horseback riding lessons to a girl with autism to help her riding skills and focus. Working with these students has given Jennifer valuable experience with different disabilities and teaching strategies. She found it rewarding to see their success, such as improving test scores and the girl placing second in a horse show. Jennifer feels this experience has made her a more sensitive teacher and will help her work with diverse students in the future.
