Raabe Bernardo is a 24-year-old fashion buyer from Rio de Janeiro who studied Fashion and is now studying International Relations. She got into the fashion business after her mother suggested she work as an assistant in a fashion office. As a fashion buyer, she is responsible for buying the materials and items needed to develop a new collection. While education is important, she believes experience is more valuable for becoming a fashion buyer as it prepares you to deal with obstacles on the job. In the future, she hopes to start her own sustainable fashion company focused on respecting employees and using environmentally-friendly materials.

- 2. Interview My name is Thadeu Rodrigues and my interviewed is Raabe Bernardo, a 24 year old fashion buyer. She lives in Rio de Janeiro and studied Fashion and currently is studying International Relations.
- 3. 1) How did you get into the fashion business? I never tought I’d work with fashion but I wanted to work and one day my mother told me that one of her friends needed an assistant to work in his fashion office and I thought would be nice to get some experience and of course money. 2) What is a fashion buyer? A fashion buyer is the responsible to buy the tissues and everything that is needed to develop a new collection. 3) What do you think it’s needed: a good gradution or a great experience to become a fashion buyer? I believe it’s more important the experience because you’ll find so many obstacles to deal and we only face them when we are working.
- 4. 4) What’s the connection between fashion buyer and International Relations? Actually, nowadays, many fashion buyers work with Import, therefore International Relations came to add value to our knowledge. 5) What do you expect from the future as a Professional? I intend to create my own fashion company, but my focus will be on sustainability, i mean, respecting my employees and using materials that do not harm the environment.
