Simple evacuant
enema :
Used to increasing water content
in stool and stimulate defecation.
Cold enema:
Used to reduce the body
temperature .
medicated evacuent enema:
Used to administer the
Oil enema:
it helps to soften the faecal
matter in case of severe
constipation.
Purgative enema:
It act by irritating effect on
mucus lining and stimulate
peristalsis and cause evacuation
of bowel.
Antihelminthic enema :
It helps to dealstroy and expel
the worms from the intestine.
Astringent enema :
Used to check bleeding and
inflammation of the intestine .
Stimulant enema :
Used to treat the shock and
collapse and poisoning .
sedative enema :
Used to induce the sleep or
sedation.

Used to check diarrhoea or
soothing and relieving irritation
and inflammation of the mucus
membrane of rectum.
