Second in command reporting directly to the Engineering Manager in absence of the Discipline Lead managing and coaching of the HVAC discipline team members in setting up D&ID’s, calculations and sizing equipment. Further responsibilities and tasks involving this role were; setting up and populating Technical Data Sheets (TDS), preparing Request For Quote (RFQ) and reporting Technical Bid Clarification’s (TBC), select and procure LQ main mechanical equipment such as AHU’s, Extract Fans, Humidifiers, Re-heaters, Control Panel and Dampers. Other responsibilities included HAZOP as lead author of the LQ HVAC Control Philosophy. Later became Responsible Package Engineer (RPE) for all HVAC related equipment packages including reviewing vendor documentation, scheduling, and procurement of supplemental HVAC equipment as required and to ensure certification (CSA, DNV), attending factory testing of mechanical equipment (FAT) at the manufacturing fabrication side as outlined by the Client’s specifications. Also supporting procurement and QA-QC departments by reviewing and reporting third party inspections reports of procured equipment and coordination with Equipment Vendors, HVAC subcontractors, client representatives (Exxon Mobil and Worley Parson), Certifying Body (DNV) and Regulator (CNLOPB). Providing engineering support to the HVAC fabrication team, the last 6 month’s of my contract (remaining HVAC PRE), I became a member of the engineering team located at Bull arm construction facility, responsible to communicate design and coordination with other disciplines at fabrication level.
