Editor's Notes

  • #3: Educational Support Services (ESS) is sometimes referred to as Course Support
  • #10: You will need your Honor Code for exams. If you don’t know your Honor Code, you can find this on MiTools under the student tab. Never write your Honor Code AND name on the same document. On the scantron, the only thing you need to fill out is your Honor Code. You will place it in the section that asks for UMID number. Please make sure to bubble this on the scantron. If you’d like, you may also write your number at the top as well as course number and date. If you forget your Honor Code on your first exam, please write your name.. Do not leave blank otherwise we may not be able to score your exam. Also make sure to fully bubble in the scantron and use #2 pencil.
  • #11: Students cannot view exams until scores have been posted. Students have one week from the posted date to view an exam during exam viewing hours. Standard exam viewing times are 12pm-2pm M-Th but can vary based on student need. Therefore if there is a time conflict, students can make an appointment during that week outside of exam viewing times. However, exams cannot be viewed the week prior to exams or the week of exams. Students can view their exam for 10 minutes. Students may not copy exams word for word or photograph exams. If students need to make a note of a question, they must use ESS paper and show their note before leaving the office. Exams cannot leave the ESS office. Students may not use cell phones or laptops while viewing exams in the ESS office.
  • #12: See ESS Email for Student FAQ’s for more questions and more thorough explanations.

  • #17: ESS was established in 2010 and we support roughly 85% of your courses. In your first couple of years, we probably support closer to 90%. Put in plain language, we are an extra set of hands for your Course Directors. We assist with Canvas course design, course management, and reporting. We handle gradebooks, scheduling, and exam storage. We also design online environments for milestone testing, proctor students with accommodations, and are generally good resources if you have any general curricular or grading questions.
