Research – Duringresearch I usedvarioussitesthroughtechnologyaswe asa group wantedtoreearchindepthandmake a filmopeingthatwastrue to itsconventiosandstill be original.We wantedtocreate contentthatwouldnotonly appeal toaudiencesbutactuallybe impactful andattractattention,becoming aproductlovedbyour viewers. Google andYoutube were keytoour reserchand evenproductionastheygave usthe opputrunitytodiscoverhelpuf informationonourgenre andfilmsthathave succeededandunsuccededinthe pastsowe were more clearand focusedonwhatwe had to do. Youtube wasa major helpinourresearchas that’s how we acessedslasherfilm openingsandcompletedfilmanalysisof those openings(Halloween,Fridaythe 13th etc).I also usedyoutube tolook at reviewsof filmsthatwe studiedandfilmsinourchosendramatoget more of an ideaof whatdrawedthe audienve inandwhatkindsof thingsworkand donot. Vimeowasthe othersite we usedjustincase we couldn’t access watwe neededonyoutube aswell asfctual videosandclipsthatcouldhelpusprepare. The other part of technologythatwasneccessaytouse in the processof creatingthisfilmopeningwasblogger.We usedthissite to keeptrack of ourprogressso itwasn’tjut inphysicial formlikelytogetlostetc.we startedoff just addingpostsaboutour researchto the genre as we wasn’ttoo familiaresepciallywiththe factthata slasherisa sub- genre of horror so itis not the same as everyotherhorrormeaningwe hadto get ourfacts accurate inorder to be true to the genre.

I diduse Slideshare/Prezi whentalkingaboutditrivutioncompaniesandproductionscompaniesaswell asshowing our researchandknowledge intothe slashergenre.We usedthese sitesforpreparationforthe ope ningandgeneral mediaknowledge aswe were leariningkeythingsabouthow filmsare plannedandorganizedandthe structuresand ideasthatcreate the perfectslasherfilm. We alsocreateda slideshare presentationthe slashergenre aspartof our researchbasiciallysummingitupshowing us whatto include inourtype of film.Thisuse of technologywasvital inourresearchandplanningasit showsthe examinersthatwe knowaboutthe topicand itsdetails.We understandthe conventions of ourgenre andhopefully that showsinour official opening. Afterproductionandcreatingouropeningwe usedclipconvertertoconvertthe filmopenings intosmallerclipssowe couldtransferthemto iMovie andeditthemintoan evaluationtask showinghow ourfilmopeningfollows conventionsandissimilartootherslasherfilms to prove we had followedimportantstructures and ingeneral justtocompare the various openingstosee similaritiesandmaybe whatwe couldhave improvedon.
