- 1. Evaluation on my Ict Project By Hei Yin Sin
- 2. Research & Planning I believe that I have researched well on the sections that I will need to know to help me with my project such as analyzing different form builders which would be most suitable to use to collect and update our results automatically and be able to embed onto our website. Another research which was useful to our project was finding suitable website producer that will enable us to host our website onto the school server as well as incorporating out form into it. After some extensive research, my final decision was to use Google Forms & Google Sites to set up my project. I have also conducted a questionnaire to aid us with our research in getting a clear idea of what our client wants. In terms of planning, I didn’t do so well in as we didn’t have a systematic plan to follow through which could have helped us greatly in organizing our steps to complete the project. A flow chart would have been useful to help us keep on task on our project.
- 3. Technical Skills During the course of my project, I learnt how to create a Google form and site where I was successfully able to incorporate the form onto the site as we had planned to at the start of the project. I have also been able to develop my Ict skills on Gimp through this project as I didn’t know how to use the software before. After some research and looking at tutorials, I was able to learn and develop my editing skills which would be useful in helping me with my future projects.
- 4. Communication I was able to communicate easily and effectively with my partner and my client throughout this project. I mostly communicated with my partner at school as we were in the same form and Ict class, so therefore we were able to discuss the about the project without much communication difficulties. We were also able to keep close contact with our client as seen through the emails we sent as well requesting permission from the teachers in person. During out of school hours, we used free communication tools such as Skype, Facebook or Gmail to communicate with each other with was a useful and effective way.
- 5. Testing I was able to test my project out at school which came out successfully as the students who required help were being tutored. I have also taking some photos of our project during the test run which shows evidence that it had been tested out by our client (Island School students). We also received positive feedback from our client which has proven our project was both very useful for both junior and senior students.
- 6. Originality and Creativity I learned that with a the aid of technology combined with your own creativity, you can create a simple service for school which could help out many students in return. I have also been able to create my own banner which I will be using for my project and will be embedded onto the website. Overview Overall I found making this project to be quite fun and engaging as I was able to help out students at school in the end. I was happy that our project came out successfully and I hope that the school can continue to use this service to help out students in the future.
