Evaluation part 2 (target audience)
Who Is Your Target Audience?
• We decided our target audience is the ages 15-30
• This is because-
- our age certificate is 15, so it will start here and end at 30
because people of that age, especially males would still be
able to enjoy the action and drama aspects.
- this age bracket has the most amount of disposable
income to spend on going to the cinema
- the low end of this age bracket would be able to relate to
the protagonists as they are of the same age
- the high end of the age bracket would be able to relate to
the majority of the antagonists as they are also of similar
ages.
Age Certificate
• We chose the ’15’ age certificate because of the
proposed content of the film, e.g. Violence, drug
use and sexual content.
• Also if we made it ‘18’ we would lose out on a
whole chunk of prospective audience, which
would equal less ticket sales.
• Another reason for the film being ‘15’ was
influence by our ‘inspired by’ films from our
pitch. They all had a ‘15’ rating except for one
which was ‘18’.
Demographics – Male
• Age – 15-30
• Race/ Ethnicity – Caucasian and Black British
• Occupation – Group E, students part time workers
• Hobbies/Consumption/Lifestyle
disposable income, partying, drinking, online gaming,
shopping, eating out, going to cinema, VOD(video on
demand), weekend work, part time work, small car,
public transport, shared living, small homes, branded
high street clothing, big branded clothing, interest in
sports teams, avid user of social medias, casual
relationships
Demographics - Female
• Age – 15-30
• Race/Ethnicity – Caucasian
• Group E, students part time workers
• Hobbies/Consumption/Lifestyle
disposable income, partying, drinking, online
shopping, going shopping, eating out, going to
cinema, VOD(video on demand), weekend work,
part time work, small car, public transport, shared
living, small homes, branded high street clothing,
big branded clothing, avid user of social medias,
casual relationships, interest in celebrity culture
Production Research
• We didn’t do a lot of production research into deciding
our target audience, this was because we were certain
of our choice of age bracket by looking at our ‘inspired
by’ films.
• However we did do research on our target audience by
getting our classmates to fill in feedback sheets every
time my group and I presented something. My
classmates are 16-17 and my teachers under 30 which
meant we got feedback from across our age bracket.
• This feedback help my group and I make improvements
to our pitches and title sequence its self.
