What have you learnt
from your audience
feedback?
From my rough cut I learnt..
 what the audience liked about my video
which was that they liked the stop motion
and the time-lapse elements. Furthermore
this made me try and include more of
them in my music video. When I asked
what could be improved, the feedback
was that the clips were too long and that I
should take the obvious transitions out
and replace them with fades and
dissolves.
Also
 I was told the guitar playing needs to look
more professional. However, singer
songwriter genre isn’t always like that and
my music video could be argued to
highlight the artist getting it wrong and
practising song in different places. Also
this makes it more personal which singer
songwriter genre is. Furthermore I created
another time lapse which fits in well with
the song and two stop motion shots.
After I added all these
elements in
 which greatly improved my music video from
the rough cut I asked for some more
feedback. The negative feedback I got was
that the time lapse should have gone on for
longer, for example until it got dark to
reinforce the idea of time passing and it
would relate to the lyrics further. However this
is hard realistically to pull off as you have to
rely so much on the weather when doing
outside time-lapses and you have to stand
outside for such a long time.
I produced a questionnaire
 to help me get feedback on my music
video and ancillary products. I also asked
people of a wide age range, to make
sure there are widespread views as
different people of different ages may
feel differently about my music video and
it will appeal to some ages more than
others.

From this questionnaire I
found that ..
 the stop motion I used and built on was
extremely popular, as in nearly all the
questionnaires it was mentioned in the ‘name
two impressive elements’ question whereby
many answered the candles and heart stop
motion element. The animation created
under the tree was also mentioned on
several occasions and the time-lapse
throughout the music video to show the
change in time. This reaffirms that it was the
right thing to add in more of the stop motion
and time-lapse.
 I also asked what needs to be improved and I
found that many thought the guitar playing
needed to appear more in time with the music, also
it was commented that these parts didn’t look
realistic enough.
 People most liked the meaning and concept of my
music video and how the meaning was portrayed
and enforced through not only my music video but
across my ancillary products as well.
 When asked what genre they would put my music
video and ancillary products into, everyone said
singer songwriter which is what I was going for, with
the artist writing and practising the song
throughout.
 Some of my audience also thought the
protagonist had written the song himself which
conveys that the way I have constructed star
image in my music video and ancillary products
is affective as this is what I wanted to convey.
 Furthermore on some occasions country was
circled as well. This was because of the
countryside shots and scenery which was
displayed. Seeing as I asked a wide age range
some of the older members I asked said it was
Romance because of the representation and
construction in which it was portrayed. This
teaches me that the conventions i portrayed
were of a romantic nature which is what I
wanted it to convey.
The last question I asked
 was does it appeal to your age range. It seemed
to appeal to from the early twenties upwards
someone in the 10-20 age range said that he felt
that it didn’t appeal to him because it contains
more adult meaning and concept. My age range
was really over 30’s, furthermore all those with an
age range of over thirty said that the music video
appealed to them therefore through this
questionnaire I have learnt that all my product
appeal to my target audience.
