Evaluation Question 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
Photoshop
The main feature I used to produce my magazine was
Photoshop, and to begin with, I started off with the quick
selection tool to cut the image of my artist out of the
background so I could re-size it and put it on the cover of my
magazine. The person I took images of had a few images on her
face, so I then used the healing brush tool to correct the
blemishes and to make her skin look flawless. Here are
examples of how I used both of those tools:
Photoshop
I then went on to use the gradient tool to create a background
colour for my image as the cover would have looked too plain if I
didn’t do this. This created a good effect for my magazine cover
as it created house style with the rest of the features I had on
the front cover. After that I wanted to change the colour of the
artists hair to reinforce the house style of my front cover but it
took me a while to figure out how to do this. Eventually, I
discovered that I needed to colourise the whole picture, and
then paint everything black, as this would turn it back to its
normal colour, and anything that I wanted to keep the colour, I
had to paint white. I really struggled with this feature and it took
me a while to figure out how to do this.
