The Engineering World Health chapter at the City College of New York is led by an executive board and advised by Prof. Bikson. The national organization and chapter work to improve healthcare in developing countries through design competitions, a summer institute, and technical workshops. Membership levels include part-time and full-time, with full-time members able to participate in design projects and the summer institute. Current design projects include a modified spoon and devices for glucometer strips, respiratory monitoring, seizure detection, and blood loss monitoring.
