Quantitative Methods I: Section B & C
                    (COMPUTER) ASSIGNMENT - I

Due on or before: 6 pm on July 3, 2012
Select a data-set of your choice and interest, containing one variable and (at least) hundred data
points. It can be any data set, as long as it does not comes from a text-book or any software.
YOU MUST MENTION THE SOURCE OF THE DATASET.

Once you select the data, you should
   a) compute 4 to 5 summary statistics;
   b) make 2 to 3 pictorial representation that best summarizes and communicates the
      characteristics of the chosen data set;
   c) write a small but focused report (within a page) communicating the significance of your
      reported summary statistics and graphical representations, with specific reference to your
      data;
   d) identify some of the parameters /queries of possible interest in this context, that in your
      judgment can be inferred from the data or require some additional data that is possible to
      collect.


Rules for submission: Your submitted file should be named “ROLLNO_CE1.ext” where
“ROLLNO” is your PGP roll number and “.ext” would reflect the software you are using. The
file needs to be submitted via moodle. e-mail submissions would
not be considered under any circumstances.
