Exercise Time For The Mind
Exercise  1 A man died and went to Heaven. There were thousands of other people there. They were all naked and all looked as they did at the age of 21. He looked around to see if there was anyone he recognized. He saw a couple and he knew immediately that they were Adam and Eve.  How did he know?

Answer To Exercise 1 He recognized Adam and Eve as the only people without navels. Because they were not born of women, they had never had umbilical cords and therefore they never had navels.
Exercise 2 The man who sold it did not want it. The man who bought it did not need it. The man who used it did not know it. What was it?

Answer To Exercise 2 A Coffin
Exercise 3 There is something about Mary Mary's mum has four children. The first child is called April. The second May. The third June. What is the name of the fourth child?
Do you really need help for Exercise 3? COUNT, COUNT!
Answer To Exercise 3 Mary!  Mary's mother’s  fourth child was Mary herself.
Exercise 4 A police officer saw a truck driver clearly going the wrong way down a one-way street, but did not try to stop and issue him a summons. The police officer was not a friend or relative of the driver; he was a righteous person always carrying out his duties.  Why didn’t he try to stop the driver?

Answer To Exercise 4 The truck driver was walking along the street. Who said that he was driving a vehicle?
Exercise 5 Acting on an anonymous phone call, the police raid a house to arrest a suspected murderer. They don't know what he looks like but they know his name is John and that he is inside the house. The police bust in on a carpenter, a lorry driver, a mechanic and a fireman all playing poker. Without hesitation or communication of any kind, they immediately arrest the fireman. How do they know they've got their man?

Answer To Exercise 5 The fireman is the only man in the room. The rest of the poker players are women. Who says that carpenters, lorry drivers or mechanics cannot be women?
Exercise 6  In his own home a man watches as a woman is killed by another man yet does nothing to save her . The man is a normal, kind-hearted person and he does not suffer from any mental illness.  Give a logical explanation.
Do you need any help? Surely you must have heard of  John L. Baird?
Answer To Exercise 6 He saw it happening on TV.
Exercise 7   Anthony and Cleopatra are lying dead on the floor of a villa in Egypt. Nearby is a broken bowl. There is no mark on either of their bodies and they were not poisoned. How did they die?

Answer To Exercise 7 Anthony and Cleopatra are the names of 2 pet Goldfish . They were kept in a big glass bowl with proper water and food. One day when there was nobody at home, a big cat entered the room where the fish bowl was placed and toppled it over. The 2 gold fish, out of the water, died soon.
Exercise 8  A woman comes home with a bag of groceries, gets the mail, and walks into the house. On the way to the kitchen, she goes through the living room and looks at her husband, who had blown his brains out recently. She then continues calmly to the kitchen, puts away the groceries, and makes dinner.  The woman is a healthy and mentally sane person. Suggest what is happening.

Answer To Exercise 8 The husband killed himself recently and was cremated; it's his ashes in an urn on the mantelpiece that the wife looks at.
Exercise 9  .  A man holidaying abroad fell off a yacht into deep water. He could not swim and he was not wearing or holding on to anything to keep him afloat.  It took 30 minutes for the people on the yacht to realize someone was missing. The missing man was rescued two hours later. Why didn't he drown?

Answer To Exercise 9 He fell into the Dead Sea, which lies between Israel and Jordan. The water is so salty and dense that anyone in it floats very easily.
Exercise 10   In the Rectangle above, what three-letter word completes the first word and starts the second one?
