This document discusses a study on understanding how big data impacts supply chain relationships. It defines big data based on volume, velocity, and variety of information. The study aims to understand current big data practices, how relationships are governed, and how performance is impacted. Interviews were conducted with 31 companies across several countries. Results found no common definition of big data internationally and sharing varies significantly between minimum sharing and no sharing depending on company and country. Current opportunities focus on process improvement and cost reduction, while significant obstacles exist within and between companies and countries.
