This paper proposes failure-aware resource provisioning policies for a hybrid cloud infrastructure to fulfill user request deadlines. The key contributions are:
1) A flexible and scalable hybrid cloud architecture is presented to solve the problem of resource provisioning.
2) Various provisioning policies are proposed based on workload and failure models to meet a common QoS requirement of request deadlines.
3) The policies are evaluated under realistic workloads and failures, considering metrics like deadline violation rate and job slowdown.
