The Fairfield Historical Society and City of Fairfield are partnering to celebrate Fairfield's 60th anniversary of becoming a city with a variety of events from October 14-21. Events include a free 1950s/60s concert, a reception with anniversary cake, historic displays at the Community Arts Center, and a first-day stamp cancellation ceremony by the U.S. Post Office. Local historian Scott Fowler will also have a book signing for his new book featuring "then and now" photos of Fairfield landmarks. The partnership aims to engage the entire community in celebrating Fairfield's 60 years as a city.
