This project focused on using the Feature Analyst extension of ArcGIS to extract urban environmental features from aerial images of Salt Lake City, particularly large concrete structures. A supervised classification method was employed to accurately classify and extract features like trees, driveways, and various roof types, alongside the application of batch processing to ensure comprehensive image analysis. Results demonstrated the successful extraction and classification of urban features, although challenges such as shadow interference and the need for high-resolution elevation data were addressed throughout the project.
