There are several national initiatives to create repositories of metadata standards, but reuse could be promoted at a European level by federating these semantic assets repositories. This could be done by using a common Asset Description Metadata Schema (ADMS) to describe semantic assets in a consistent way and allow cross-querying between repositories. An initial prototype of this federation has been created, but next steps include refining ADMS, evaluating the prototype, and developing a portal to support pan-European access to semantic assets.
