“This is our rough cut for the opening sequence of
a thriller movie. How do you think we could
improve it to make it more effective?”

Some tense sound would make it a lot
better, you would get a feel for the film

In rough-cut 2 we have added lots of different
types of sounds and music to create the
    correct tension.

The whole thing could flow better

As this was our first rough-cut it did not flow
effectively in our second rough-cut we have
    created better transitions between different
shots, such as the bath scene.

Your production logo could move to work
better with the Sony logo. With a sound
    over the top of it.

Our production logo now zooms in, however
we tend to better this is our final cut by
maybe making the full logo move.
A name of the film would be helpful

We are still as of yet to come up with a name
for our film, however we will soon have an
effective name, which will work well with our
film.

There is some jumpy cuts from each scene it
would look a lot better if these were to be
smooth

We have created smoother transactions and
merged some of the clips together to make
the flow of the sequence better. We have also
done this with the sound in our second rough-
cut.

It is quite long for a opening sequence

We have now cut the opening sequence down,
however we still need to cut it down further
to make it more realistic.
Some scene’s last to long (talking on the
phone)

We have cut many scenes down to benefit the
flow of the sequence. We did however focus of
the phone scene. We have cut between two
different shots to make the scene flow easier
but also cut some dialogue out.

There is a slight change of lighting between
the scenes, which confused me a little

This could unfortunately not be helped due to
the location we chose. However to over come
this problem we played about with the
saturation and brightness of the clips which
has hopefully made the change of lighting a
lot better than in our first rough-cut.
