This document discusses reconstructing phylogenies from images and videos. It outlines contributions in image phylogeny, including approaches to reconstructing phylogeny forests, new dissimilarity measures, and video phylogeny for misaligned and compressed videos. For image phylogeny, the author proposes techniques like Automatic Optimum Branching and Extended Automatic Optimum Branching to exactly reconstruct phylogeny forests from dissimilarity matrices. A fusion approach is also introduced to combine results from different reconstruction algorithms to improve forest quality. Experiments are conducted on datasets containing thousands of test cases to evaluate the techniques.
