This case study describes a 57-year-old female with liver cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and seizures who was admitted multiple times with confusion and abdominal pain. An EEG showed periodic lateralized epileptiform discharges over the right parietal occipital region, suggesting encephalitis or a brain tumor in the right hemisphere. MRI and CT scans confirmed spread of a pathological process in the right occipital lobe consistent with hepatic encephalopathy. The patient's condition deteriorated and she eventually passed away.
