- 2. What I’ve Done: -Filmed I spent the 3 weekends through Easter (and a little more) filming my documentary, this consisted of a series of interviews which I did by putting on nights at the church for the young people to come and part-take using pizza and pop to entice them. After a few scares of people not turning up, we actually got some good interviews and I am very pleased with how the interviews went and felt I got a lot out of each one.
- 3. What I’ve Done: -Began Editing I started editing after Easter, and am finding it hard to use AVID as I haven’t used it since the first year, but have also kind of picked it back up again (I hope!) Nothing drastically bad has happened so far…
- 4. What I’ve Done: -Research I have started to look at Hackney-specific research, after getting to hear in the interviews a lot more about gang culture and post-code warfare and realising how prominent it is in life for my young people, I started to look into anything I could find out about it, videos, news stories, documentaries. It’s been shocking realisation; especially as one of my young people, who is a regular at youth church was recently stabbed 9 times (and survived), during the filming section of my production.

Where I am now: -Re-Shoot I have decided to re-shoot my driving scenes with a car mount, to get a more professional look and feel into my documentary, I feel this will be the best option to make my documentary up to the standard I need. I will be doing that this weekend. -Editing Editing will continue after this weekends re-shoot to splice in the new footage, and then tidy up the rest of the documentary as I feel I have got the bulk of it in the correct order, and as I want, it just now needs that fine tuning to turn it into a real film. I also need to add the music tracks. -Music Choices I need to decide exactly what tracks I am going to use, I have an idea but really need to specify exactly this week.

Where I am now: -DVD Case/Poster I am in the process of using stills from my documentary to put together a DVD cover and poster for the film, also using the logo I have made by a professional Graphic Designer. (as above!) -Deciding the Name Deciding the name has been one of the hardest things about this documentary, I am at a real loss, I think the best name would be: Welcome to Hackney, as there is a strong theme of arriving in hackney throughout the film.

What I need to do: -Finalise Name I need to make sure I am settled on Welcome to Hackney, and then finalise it on my posters and DVD cover. -Finish Editing I will be finishing the edit by Wednesday. -Create DVD I hope to present my work on a DVD, with the main feature, and 3 added bonuses. 1) Tia-isms, 2) Poems, 3) Photos
- 8. What I need to do: -Touch Up Blog I need to make sure my blog is up to date, as that’s where all my hard work, research, planning, production is all in. I need to make it shine. -Reflections I need to finish off my blog by writing up my final evaluations of the project, of how its been, what I would do differently, and have a good last reflect on the entire project, from 310 forward.
