Salford City College Eccles Sixth Form Centre BTEC Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production Unit 4: Final Major Project Proposal Form Media Format (film, documentary, motion graphics, photography, animation, graphic design etc) I have chosen to create a Horror/Thriller Movie Trailer for my final project. Synopsis of Idea (content, narrative, genre) I would like to create a movie trailer in the style of a Horror/Thriller Film. The trailer will start of quite calm and slowly become more dark and scary. The trailer will have a main antagonist and protagonist. Target Audience? (demographic NOT age range) Target Audience Needs? The demographic for the trailer would be aimed at Teenagers and Adults. Being in the style of a horror/thriller, I would need to create Jumps, thrills and scary scenes. Some scenes would be shot in the evening to make the viewer on edge as in the typical horror/thriller films the scary events take place in the evening. The target audience would expect this due to the genre of the Trailer. How will your project meet the needs of your target audience? (Make reference to content you think will appeal to your target audience) What production techniques will you use to realise your project? If my idea is completed in the way that I see it, the trailer will leave people guessing and wanting to watch the film. I want to include the conventions that create fear in these types of films such as: isolated places, scary houses, interesting/scary characters. Pre-production will include watching trailers/films that inspire me. I will also have to look for locations to shoot the trailer creating location sheets. I will also have to create script. I would need to consider incidents. The trailer will be shot using a camera and the edited using premiere pro and after effects. I will then upload it to YouTube for it to be viewed.
