This document discusses a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of the aerodynamic properties of surface roughness on a rugby ball. Rugby balls have an ellipsoid shape unlike most spherical sports balls. There is little existing research on the aerodynamics of rugby balls. The study aims to use CFD simulations at different wind speeds and yaw angles to better understand the airflow and aerodynamic characteristics of a rugby ball. Solidworks Flow Simulation will be used to model a rugby ball, apply varying wind conditions, and calculate coefficients like drag to analyze the results.
