The firefighter is teaching children about fire safety rules. The rules include: never playing with fire or matches; stopping, dropping, and rolling if clothes catch fire; not hiding during a fire and waving arms to be seen; staying low by crawling to exits; getting out of a burning building and not going back in; having a family meeting place away from fires; and knowing how to call for help by dialing 999. Following these rules will help children stay safe in case of a fire emergency.

- 7. Rule #5 – Get Out and Stay Out It is important to get out of a burning building quickly and stay out. Never go back inside of a burning building!
- 8. Rule #6 – Have a Family Meeting Place Your family should have a safe meeting place that is outside and away from the fire. Everyone will meet here in case of a fire.
- 9. Rule #7 – Know How to Call for Help It is important to know how to call for help in case of an emergency. Have your parents teach you how to call 999. 999
