Flickr and Picasa are both image and video hosting websites that allow users to share photos and videos online. Flickr was created in 2004 and later acquired by Yahoo, while Picasa was created in 2002 and later acquired by Google. Both sites offer free storage and organizing of photos and videos, with paid premium accounts providing additional storage and ad-free experiences. The key differences are that Flickr offers 1TB of free storage while Picasa offers 1GB, and Flickr organizes photos into sets and collections while Picasa uses albums.

- 13. • Picasa is an image organizer and viewer for organizing and editing digital photos. • It is also an photo sharing website. • Google acquired Picasa from Lifescape (creator ) and started offering it as “freeware”. • The name Picasa comes from the famous Spanish painter “Pablo Picasa” and the phrase mi casa and “pic” for pictures. • It was first released in the year 2002. • The application is available for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X • The latest version for Windows is 3.9 and Mac is 3.9 which was launched on 13th August 2014.
