The document discusses a modified adaptive threshold algorithm (MATA) for detecting and mitigating flooding attacks in software-defined networking (SDN). MATA reduces false negative rates and improves detection accuracy by using a dynamic threshold based on baseline traffic rather than a static setting, which is prone to high false alarms. Experimental results demonstrate that MATA can reduce false negative rates by up to 17.74% and increase detection accuracy by 16.11% compared to traditional methods.
