Fourier Transform
Fourier series transforms  the time domain expression for a continuous  periodic waveform  into  frequency domain  of which pictures a series of  spectral lines  separated by equal intervals of frequency and of different amplitude and phase.  Fourier Transform  is a similar process whereby a time domain  non-periodic waveform  is transformed into a  frequency domain  (and vice-versa) which leads to continuous  spectral distribution  at all frequencies ( not just harmonics).
