This document details the design and implementation of an FPGA-based heartbeat monitor using fingertip optical sensors, aimed at facilitating heart health detection for patients and medical teams. The study presents the architecture, components, and testing results, showing an average percentage error of 3.94% in heart rate measurement when compared to traditional methods. Key components include sensor blocks, signal conditioning, pulse counting, and timer functionalities, all programmed using Xilinx ISE Webpack.
