- 2. The audience for my media product is for Girls aged 11 to 18, I Have also posted a blog about the target audience, the link is below. My target audience would be a girl who would listen to pop stars like Rihanna, Katy Perry, or Justin Bieber. My Music Magazine represents my target audience because I made my product for them, I wanted to make my product girly and classy for the audience and I wanted to give them what they want and why they bought the magazine, they want to buy the magazine because they either like the front cover which contains there favourite artist and artists or upcoming artists and reviews on CDs they wanted to buy. - 3. • I started to look at different types of magazines, I noticed more girls buy pop music magazines, like top of the pops, and I love pop magazine. • This is because most girls now are interested in Justin bieber, one direction, Jessie j or Rihanna. • Music is changing, and pop is becoming more and more popular.

- 5. I wanted to talk directly to the audience, I researched and asked my friends and my younger family members what would attract you to buy a music magazine. My younger cousin Abby, whom Is a massive fan of Justin bieber said she would buy a magazine, if they contain posters, front cover of Justin bieber or Jls. And that is why I added a lure to win One direction tickets.

A Part of My Questionnaire This first part of my questionnaire helped me quite a lot, because I can see that most girls want to see there favourite artists and Most of them like Justin Bieber and they are lured by the posters. For my main cover, I wanted to put one star on the front cover and I want to put her on the front cover because it will interest a lot of girls to be like her because her story is that she won the factor and achieved her dream.
- 7. Lure is the most important convention to use in a magazine. It mainly attracts the audience towards the magazine, and they would want to buy it. To the left are a few examples of magazines I have bought. One picture is Rihanna and that is the huge important Lure in a magazine, they are attracted to the front cover because want to see who Rihanna is crazy in love with. The other picture is Taylor swift and you can notice on the side, there are pugs (Nicole scherzinger) and lures in the left side.
- 8. How does your media product represent particular social groups? My music magazine represents my target audience, the magazine shows the audience are into pop music, for example like Rihanna and Jessie j, it links with there interests, for example, some girls are interested in Justin bieber and they want to know more about Justin bieber, so they would head straight to a magazine. I wanted to show a classy, fancy and elegant theme for the target audience/ social group. So that’s why I added a nice soft purple colour to an elegant font. I know I have shown my target audience in a good way through my font and the layout of my magazine. The image throughout my magazine shows a pop star, with pop star poses like some ideas I have researched. The image is aimed at an older teenager, because they will find the image classy and very popular. I asked the model to wear light coloured clothes to help with different affects I can use for my products.
- 9. I have represented my social group, as being younger teenagers or older teenagers, for them to enjoy reading the magazine and not expect any bad language or anything else on the matter. An other thing I have done is kept it silent on the front cover and the contents page, so the reader will buy the magazine and will start to read the pages. I didn’t want to get straight to the information already on the products.

What have I learnt about the technologies from the process of this product I have learnt quite a lot in this process of the product, I have learnt how to use Photoshop, because of editing the magazine. I have added the original picture and now on the next slide you will see that I have editing I, and it will be perfect to use for my front cover.
- 11. You can see, I have made the sky look brighter and more sunnier, I have made the person in the front to have more colour in her face, I have made the view look better and you may see I have used a middle view camera shot to show the view as well.
- 12. These are the tools I have learnt to use on Photoshop. I have learnt how to use most of them tools on Photoshop, I know how to use the spot healing brush and the clone stamp. Those two are the ones I had struggled on at the first time however I know how to do them now. Clone Stamp Before Clone stamp, After – The bottle has disappeared.
- 13. Before you have to use Photoshop, you have to have a high quality camera in order to edit your magazine pictures. One main use of technology that I have learnt to use from creating my music magazine is the program called Photoshop cs5 however I have Cs2 at home, this was used to edit pictures and images to make them look how I wanted for my product. I used a variety of tools like spot-healing brush tool, the lasso tool, the crop tool and the clone stamp tool.
- 14. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? I have tried to make my magazine look as professional as possible, I looked at a few different magazines to get loads of different ideas, for the photo, I looked at most photo- shoot poses and ideas and I wanted to book a photo-shoot studio, however it was fully booked the day I phoned, so I thought of another idea, which was adding the perfect view for the photo-shoot, and my first idea was Liverpool’s Famous place, the Albert Dock.

For the masthead, I wanted to get the best name and the best font to use, I decided to look at the main colours first in a music magazine, I looked at different pop magazines and others genres like NME. Nme interested me in to making my name for the magazine, Because Nme stands for New Musical Express. So I was thinking of making a name like that however I came across Musical Terms Like Time Signature and I really liked the Name Signature and I also asked my friends if they would like it for my magazine and the main answer they said was I would Buy it. Top Of The Pops Inspired me to do Purple for the colours of the masthead and other text. I have a really old cover from top of the pop which I have had since I was a busted fan, and now looking through it, I have noticed the layouts and text they used to use, on your left, you can see there old magazine and they used to use blue and mostly pink. I wanted to develop the colour from the Cher Lloyd top of the pops magazine, and make the colour more lighter and more elegant to the front cover of the page and I also had the idea of the pug in the middle of the magazine, this shows I am trying to take different ideas from the conventions of the magazine.
- 16. For this Contents Page, I got the idea of Nme and Rolling stones magazine. I looked at the NME and rolling stones text and layout. I basically just combined this together and my own ideas and created this magazine. I wanted to get the reader more focused on the contents page because that’s where they mainly turn the page to see what page there favourite artists are on The page numbers are all different to show there are many pages to look at.

In the middle, you can see my final double page, You can see the magazine double page spreads I have researched, in my pop magazine that I bought “We Love Pop Magazine” Taylor swift was on the front cover and on there double page spread, they asked the star many questions, and I thought that was a good idea to use, I decided to do that idea. On the left, you can see a lady gaga double page spread, It gave me an idea to use for the layout of the magazine, so I decided to use white for the background, and the main picture on the left. On the right, you can see the speech title on the left and that gave me idea to use the font Courier New because it is similar to typewriter texts and script writing texts.
- 18. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? The media institution that would distribute my media product, would be IPC media, who own and publish more than 60 well known media brands. For example Teen Now, who have one direction as there story's now and they also publish a well known magazine called Nme. Why they would distribute my media product is because if they buy my magazine, they would expand there business and they would make more profit, however they would only distribute my magazine if it was professional, and that’s what I need to make it look like.
- 19. Looking Back At Your Preliminary Task Looking Through my preliminary task, for example my college magazine, I have noticed I have improved from my college magazine to my music magazine.

I have learnt quite a lot throughout my premilary task, I know how to edit pictures on Photoshop, I know how to research the different magazines and also how to take a great picture for my Magazine. I have learnt how to get everything ready for the editing of the magazine, getting the photos, organising a photo- shoot and booking a studio however the studio was double booked that day so I had to try and find somewhere else and think of a better idea to use for the photo-shoot and that was the Liverpool albert docks.
