INTRODUCES
AN ECO-FRIENDLY, HERBAL,
SGS APPROVED FUMIGATION PRODUCT
What is Chemical Fumigation?
Fumigation is a method of pest control that completely fills an
area  with  gaseous pesticides—or fumigants—to  suffocate  or
poison the pests within. It is used to control pests in buildings
(structural  fumigation),  soil,  grain,  and  produce,  and  is  also
used during processing of goods to be imported or exported to
prevent transfer of exotic organisms. This method also affects
the  structure  itself,  affecting  pests  that  inhabit  the  physical
structure, such as woodborers and drywood termites.
SOURCE: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fumigation
As  we  all  are  aware  that  Transporting  goods  in  ships  and
aircrafts  between  countries  using  containers  is  an  economic
and  well  established  practice.  Fumigation  becomes  necessary
in order to keep away exotic pests and diseases entering into
the  country  while  permitting  reasonably  rapid  clearance  of
containers. Timber insects pose a significant Quarantine risk in
all countries and accordingly all wooden packing material used
in  the  export  packing  should  be  fumigated.  By  carrying  out
fumigation at the port of loading clearance of the container at
the  discharge  port  can  be  done  without  any  infestation
problem.
Why Fumigation is necessary?
How Infestation happens in Export cargo?
Fumigation of export cargo becomes very essential because there are possibilities of hidden infestation
in the cargo. Infestation of cargo can happen due to following factors.
(a) High moisture level in the cargo
(b) The place where cargo has been stored prior to shipment
(c) During the time of transit Infestation may occur due to previous residues that would be present in
cargo, container and ship holds that would affect the cargo significantly.
The infestation rapidly develops during the voyage period and when cargo reaches the port of discharge
it is re-fumigated again at the cost of exporter or the buyer. It is always good to carry out fumigation
prior to export to avoid huge fumigation expenditure and handling cost at the port of discharge.
As it is said “Prevention is better than cure”, it is necessary to follow good sanitation and scientific
storage methods for maintaining the cargo in sound condition prior to export.
The Product used for Fumigation is METHYL BROMIDE:-
Methyl Bromide Toxic Chemical is a Fumigant used against a wide variety of Pests.
Are We Aware??
•The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has classified Methyl Bromide as a
“Restricted Use Pesticide” (RUP), Due to the Acute Toxicity.
•METHYL BROMIDE is also being reduced because of its ability to destroy the Ozone Layer.
•Scientist believe that Methyl Bromide is Toxic because it damages several site in
organism’s cell.
Side Effect of METHYL BROMIDE on Humans:-
•Human Experience and use history indicate that METHYL BROMIDE is highly toxic. It’s
corrosive to both the skin and eyes. When exposed to skin, it can cause tingling and itching.
•The symptoms of inhalation of methyl bromide are
abdominal pain, convulsions, dizziness, headache, labored breathing, vomiting, weakness,
hallucinations, loss of speech and incoordination.
•Research suggest that long term exposure to low levels of Methyl Bromide affects the
nervous system.
The major & harmful role played by CHEMICAL FUMIGATION is, that its
dangerous & the toxic fumes penetrate in food and other products that can be a
Exposed or Densely packed materials the effect of chemicals is still found in the
product.
YOUR HEALTH IS IMPORTANT TO US.
