- 1. TAPOK CARMENANON TIBOOK KALIBUTAN (Virtual Organization)
- 2. The Organization Established to provide link between Carmenanons all over the Globe, Tapok Carmenanon is a virtual organization consisting of Carmenanons living inside and outside of Carmen, Bohol Philippines for solidarity. With the use of social media platforms, membership of the organization reached more than 1,000 actives and non-actives members. The first realized Tapok, “Tapok Alang sa Kauswagan (TASK)” was a three (3) days activities held on July 9 – 11, 2011 with days-filled activities such as Fun Run, Mass Wedding, Medical Mission, Sports Fest and Social Hours. When the earthquake hit Bohol on October 15, 2013, Tapok bonded together for relief distribution (rice, canned goods, medicines, water, tarpaulins, blankets, mats, generator for charging, etc) to heavily affected Carmen residents and schools. Five (5) severely damaged houses of less privileged residents were provided with construction materials & labor for repair of their houses from Vietnam donors with the effort of Tapok members. Among the major accomplishments was the construction of fifty (50)earthquake resilient houses of the affected victims from the contribution from generous organizations and individuals. Today, these houses can be seen along the highway going from Carmen to Dagohoy, Bohol. Due to some constraints followed by the pandemic and typhoon Odette on December 16, 2021,. the second Tapok, “ Tapok Carmenanon Tibook Kalibutan 2023”, was held 12 years after on January 12 – 14, 2023. Highlights of the activities were, Tapok Sponsored Carmen Got Talent Night, Medical Mission, Fun Run and Dinner. Tapok’s organizers wished continuity of the organization and expanded the core group to include representatives from different areas of the globe; Australia, Canada, Middle East, Singapore, US West, US East, United Kingdom/Ireland, Philippines-Manila, Philippines-Cebu, Philippines-Mindanao, Philippines- Bohol ex Carmen and Philippines-Carmen, Bohol. 20XX PRESENTATION TITLE 2
