SCORE MAXIMIZER SESSION
 What does preparation of GATE helps to?
a. Getting into Master degree programme in India
b. Getting into Master degree programme outside India
c. Getting into job as PSU
d. Getting into job at some Multi National Companies
e. Getting into research labs as scientist
f. All of the above + many more
 Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering
 Why GATE?
◦ Stipend of `12,400/pm
◦ Second door to enter into premier institutes like IITs, IISc,
NITs, and so on.
◦ PSU job package offer starts from 10Lac per year
◦ Many universities outside India consider GATE for
admission
 National University of Singapore (NUS)
 Nanyang Technological University Singapore
 Technical university of Munich
 RWTH Achen Germany
 BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre)
 BBNL (Bharat Broadband Network Limited)
 BEL India (Bharat Electric Ltd.)
 CONCOR (Container Corporation)
 DVC (Damodar Valley Corporation)
 GSECL (Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd.)
 HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd.)
 IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.)
 KRIBHCO (Krishak Bharti Corporation) Ltd.
 NLC
 ONGC Ltd. (Oil and Natural Gas Company)
 Preparation for GATE not only helps you in
scoring good in GATE but the learning that you get
will help you at many other places.
 Eg.
◦ Scoring good in engineering subjects
◦ Companies written test
◦ GRE and IELTS advance preparation
 In short at all stages of your career this will be the
basic building blocks.
 GATE 2021: The Indian Institute of Technology-
Bombay (IIT-B) has announced the date for GATE
2021.
 The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering
(GATE) exam for postgraduate admissions will be
conducted between February 5 and 14, 2021.
 Considering the present Covid-19 pandemic
situation, the dates for the GATE-2021
examination have been spread out over a longer
duration as 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th, 13th and 14th
February 2021.
 Moreover, the eligibility criteria has also been
reduced from a minimum 10+2+4 (ongoing) to
10+2+3 this year.
 This means, students who are in their third year of
their undergraduate programme can also apply for
GATE 2021. This will provide them a year’s
opportunity to improve their marks.
 Engineering Mathematics – (10 ~ 13)
 General Aptitude – (15)
 Discrete Mathematics – (5 ~ 8)
 Computer Organization and Architecture – (4 ~ 6)
 Digital Electronics – (4 ~ 6)
 Data Structure and Programming – (10 ~ 14)
 Algorithms – (4 ~ 5)
 Theory of Computation – (8 ~ 12)
 Compiler Design – (4 ~ 5)
 Operating Systems – (5 ~ 8)
 Database Management Systems – (8 ~ 10)
 Computer Network – (6 ~ 8)
 What will be the output of below code?
char a[10] = “GATE-2021”;
int p = 2;
printf(“%s”, a+(++p)+(p++));
a. 2021
b. 021
c. 21
d. None of above
If you find above question a bit challenging and
motivating then the session is for you.
 Technically
◦ Securing 25 or qualifying marks (whichever is higher) (for
general category candidates) means you have qualified
GATE.
 But understandably
◦ Approx 10 to 12 lac students graduate in CSE every year
◦ Approx 1.5 to 2 lac students appear for GATE in CSE
◦ GATE-2020 qualifying percent was approximately 18%
(so for CSE 25 ~ 30k)
If you consider 10 Lac CSE student country wide
you are in top 2.5% accross the country.
